After Amelia flew across the Atlantic she suddenly dissappeared at the age of 39. Her lockheed(her airplane she flew across the atlantic) was last heard from about 100 miles from the tiny Pacific to Howland Island, on July 2,1937.
Many people thought that she had some engine problems and had a plane crash and died in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
The search for Amelia Earhart lasted for 9 days until the judge decided to close the search for her.
Surprisingly, until today Amelia Earhart is not found yet but her plane was found.
